Bitdeer Expands into AI Computing and Cloud Services, Joins Nvidia Partner Network

Bitdeer's Strategic Move into AI Computing

Bitcoin mining enterprises are increasingly diversifying their operations, with many now turning their focus to artificial intelligence (AI) computing and cloud services. Bitdeer, a publicly traded blockchain and high-performance computing company based in Singapore, recently announced its expansion into the AI sector. As part of this strategic move, Bitdeer has joined the Nvidia Partner Network and will offer Nvidia-powered graphics processing unit (GPU) services.

Bitdeer Targets Asian Market for AI Supercomputing

Bitdeer revealed its intention to provide AI services with a particular focus on the Asian market. By joining the Nvidia Partner Network, the company aims to offer Nvidia-enabled AI supercomputing capabilities. Bitdeer's objective is to accelerate the development of generative AI, extensive language models (LLMs), and other AI workloads in the region.

Introducing Bitdeer AI Cloud

The latest offering from Bitdeer is called "Bitdeer AI Cloud," which will utilize Nvidia's DGX Superpod and DGX H100 systems. The Nvidia DGX Superpod provides a scalable infrastructure that, when combined with Nvidia's DGX systems, offers a comprehensive solution for deploying AI supercomputers. Bitdeer aims to deliver state-of-the-art computing power to businesses and innovators through its AI Cloud services.

"We are excited to work with Nvidia to lay the groundwork for the next era of AI and large language model advancements in Asia," said Matt Linghui Kong, the CEO of Bitdeer.

Bitcoin Mining Companies' Move into AI

This shift towards AI is not unique to Bitdeer. In August 2023, Iris Energy, a bitcoin mining company, invested $10 million in Nvidia GPUs to venture into AI. Similarly, Tether and Northern Data have also entered the AI space by acquiring 10,000 Nvidia H100 units with a $420 million investment. Bitdeer's foray into AI computing aligns with this trend.

Bitdeer's Strategic Timeline

Bitdeer has outlined a strategic timeline consisting of four phases: Infrastructure as a Service (IaaS), Platform as a Service (PaaS), Software as a Service (SaaS), and Application as a Service (AaaS). By following this roadmap, Bitdeer aims to provide comprehensive AI solutions to its customers.

"Generative AI empowers businesses to unlock unprecedented scalability, reliability, and innovation," commented Tony Paikeday, senior director of the DGX platform. With the Nvidia DGX infrastructure, Bitdeer can offer the AI supercomputing power and software required for building and deploying generative AI models and services.
